REC Taps Joseph Gilkerson to Head Human Resources

Joseph Gilkerson has joined REC as manager of Human Resources and employee development. Assuming oversight of all human resource functions at REC, Gilkerson will replace Carolyn White, who is retiring after nearly 40 years of service to the Cooperative.
Gilkerson comes to REC with an abundant amount of knowledge and experience in human resources, having most recently served as the Human Resources administrator for Stafford County, Va. He has also served as director of HR for several other organizations during his career.
He is a military veteran who served over 16 years in the United States Marine Corps. Certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources, Gilkerson holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership and a Bachelor of Science in business management. He resides with his family in Stafford County.
REC provides electric service to over 155,000 connections in parts of 22 Virginia counties. With its general office in Fredericksburg, Va., Rappahannock maintains more than 16,000 miles of power lines through its service area, which ranges from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the tidal waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
