Farmer Appointed to Virginia Chamber of Commerce Board

REC President and CEO Kent D. Farmer has been appointed as a director of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. The Virginia Chamber of Commerce is the Commonwealth’s leading advocate for business. It speaks for business leaders in every economic sector who share a common understanding that a strong business climate is the key to Virginia’s prosperity.

Farmer became president and CEO of Rappahannock Electric on Feb. 1, 2004. He is also president of Rappahannock Electric Communications, Inc., REC's wholly owned subsidiary. Farmer holds two bachelor’s degrees, one in Business Management from Radford University and another in Accounting and Finance from the University of Mary Washington. Prior to becoming CEO, Farmer served as the Cooperative’s vice president and COO for five years. He has been with REC since 1979 and is a native of Caroline County. He and his wife, Sharon, live in Caroline County.
