REC Names New Director of Member Services and Community Relations

Jeff Hinson has recently been promoted to director of member services and community relations for REC.
In his new role, Hinson oversees the member services department in REC's Blue Ridge Office. The department includes member service representatives, field representatives and a key account executive. He also oversees the Cooperative's community activities in Frederick, Clarke, Culpeper and Warren counties.
Prior to assuming his new position, Hinson served as a key accounts executive in Albemarle, Frederick, Clarke, Warren, Rappahannock, Madison, and Greene counties.
Hinson is a magna cum laude graduate of Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering and operations research. He also earned an MBA from Shenandoah College in Winchester. Hinson is a registered professional engineer in the states of Virginia and West Virginia and is a certified energy manager with the Association of Energy Engineers.
Hinson is in his eighth year at REC. He previously spent 23 years with Allegheny Power.
Outside of REC, Hinson is active in the community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Front Royal/Warren County Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he is chairman of the Education Committee for the Front Royal Chamber and is a member and deacon at First Baptist Church in Winchester.
Hinson and his wife, Jae, have two grown children and live in Winchester.
REC provides electric service to over 164,000 connections in parts of 22 Virginia counties. With its general office in Fredericksburg, Va., the Cooperative operates and maintains more than 16,000 miles of power lines through its service area, which ranges from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the tidal waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
