Annual Business Meeting

Cooperatives are democratic organizations controlled by their members, who actively participate in setting policies and making decisions. The elected representatives, a board of directors, are accountable to the membership. REC's board of directors is elected at the annual meeting. The annual meeting is a forum in which REC members can exercise the democratic principle and be involved in the cooperative's decision-making process.


The 2017 Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Fredericksburg Conference Center on Carl D. Silver Parkway. Registration will be from 6 to 6:45 pm. The Business Meeting will start at 7 pm. Similar to last year, the meeting will focus on the business session with a few pre-meeting displays.

Members may participate in-person or by proxy. Proxy designation cards are mailed with the July issue of Cooperative Living.

If you are unable to attend, please mail in your proxy designation card. To be valid, proxy cards must be received at an REC office by 5 pm Tuesday, Aug. 8. You will be entered to win the GRAND PRIZE, a $500 bill credit.
