Online Energy Advisor
An online energy advisor is a great way to analyze your energy usage and lower your energy bills. With only a few minutes of your time, you can analyze your home's energy usage, learn how to use energy more efficiently and customize energy improvements for your home.
Use the following free online energy advisors as a starting point to save money. You will need general information about your home's construction and energy bill totals for a consecutive twelve-month period. If you do not have your energy bills, contact REC for a twelve-month summary of your electric bill. (In most cases we can respond in one business day.)
If your home uses gas or heating oil, be sure to have those billing totals handy as well.
Home Energy Yardstick
Find out if your home's energy usage is above average by completing the Home Energy Yardstick. This simple energy advisor takes approximately 5 minutes to complete and you will need to enter some common information about your home such as age, square footage and number of occupants.
Touchstone Energy's Web-based Audit Tool
This audit provides a list of customized energy improvements and estimated savings. It takes approximately fifteen minutes to complete, and you will be asked to enter more detailed information about your home's construction. Visit Touchstone Energy's Web-based audit tool.
The Home Energy Yardstick and Home Energy Saver assign an automatic ID number to your session. Be sure to save this number for future use in updating your personalized energy audit.
