Heat Pump Water Heaters

GE Hybrid — Energy Efficient and Easy on Your Budget

hybrid water heaterAn average family of four with a standard, 50-gallon water tank uses approximately 40 to 60 gallons of heated water per day, which costs approximately $566 per year. A new, GE Hybrid water heater would use less energy, and the same family would spend only $215 per year to heat their water.

Using heat pump technology, in combination with traditional electric elements, these water heaters pull heat from surrounding air and transfer it to the tank. This innovative process creates the same amount of hot water as a traditional water heater, but can reduce energy consumption significantly.

And by purchasing an ENERGY STAR-rated water heater from REC, you may qualify for the federal tax credit of $300 in 2011.
