Smart Grid
"Smart grid" is a term for many different tools that will help provide more efficient and reliable electric service to meet future needs. At REC, it includes upgrades to the hardware to deliver power to members, as well as new meters and programs that give convenient access to energy data. Visit the About Us section of this site to learn more about the smart grid initiative, including details about the installation of "smart" meters in the portion of our territory that was recently acquired from Allegheny Power.
