REC Helps Members Facing Financial Hardship

The Cooperative recognizes unforeseen circumstances such as a government shutdown, an unexpected high bill or other surprises can cause a financial strain. REC will work with individual members to address their individual circumstances. There are a variety of tools to help in times such as these:

Budget Billing
If you are looking for a long term solution, budget billing might be for you. Your monthly bill is based on the average of the previous 12 months. Budget billing is available to all members who are current on their monthly bill. The amount is adjusted twice each year to compensate for variations in your energy use and power costs. It’s free to enroll.

Monitor and Manage Your Electricity Use
Check when your energy use was the highest using the My Usage tool in MyREC SmartHub. Identify when your family uses the most energy in your home, and set notifications to receive email or text alerts when your home has used a certain amount of electricity.
