Funds Available From Operation Round Up
July 21, 2015
Operation Round Up® (ORU) could fund your nonprofit organization. REC announces the application period to apply for ORU funding is now open. Nonprofit organizations and charities are encouraged to apply.
Applications for ORU funds can be found online here or at any REC office. Applications need to be completed and returned by Aug. 17.
“Twice each year funds are awarded to various organizations that serve REC members,” explained Cynthia Ellis, ORU Administrator. “A volunteer board consisting of REC members reviews all eligible applications and determines funding based on eligibility requirements.”
ORU allows REC members to round up their electric bills to the next whole dollar. Each bill’s extra change is donated to benefit nonprofit organizations serving local communities. Find more information here. If you have questions, call 1-800-552-3904.
REC provides electric service to over 160,000 connections in parts of 22 Virginia counties.
