Q. What is SmartHub?

A. MyREC SmartHub is REC's new online account management system. It allows you to manage your REC account and pay bills in real time using your computer, smartphone or tablet.

This new online gateway can be accessed through the web or the new MyREC SmartHub Android or iOS app. You will now have a single login for all the important services of REC: Check and pay your bill; sign up for email and text alerts; monitor energy use; report an outage; contact REC through webchat or email.

MyREC SmartHub will replace some of the features you might be currently using. For example, you will no longer be able to utilize the eBill and EZ-Pay online services. Current eBill members will receive a paper bill in February so you can setup an online profile in MyREC SmartHub. will no longer be available because energy-use monitoring will become part of MyREC SmartHub. PrePay and EZ-Pay will no longer be utilized outside of MyREC SmartHub.

What is exciting is that with the new online gateway and MyREC SmartHub apps, you will be able to sign in once and access all these features quickly and easily!

Q. What is the difference between the mobile app and the web versions of SmartHub?

A. The MyREC SmartHub mobile app can be downloaded and installed on your compatible mobile phone or tablet. The web version is internet accessible from any web-enabled device. Both the app and the web version give you secure access to maintain your account information, view your bills, see payment history, make payments on one or more accounts, set up recurring payments and report outages. They also allow you to monitor and manage your electricity use. The app allows you to find and get directions to REC's offices using the map feature on your device.

The web version allows you to register your accounts to receive notifications for account milestones, such as an approaching or a missed due date. If you want notifications sent to a different email address or even texted to your mobile phone, you can do that, too. It also allows you to set usage markers (date range or point in time) to monitor the changes in usage based on events. In addition, you can set up outage text alerts to be sent to your or your spouse's or someone else's mobile device. The web version also allows you to maintain your personal information and store payment methods. .

Q. How secure is the mobile app?

A. All critical information is encrypted in every transaction and no personal information is stored on your mobile device. Mobile devices do offer you the ability to store your login information for apps installed on the device. If you choose to store your login information, any person who has access to your mobile device could access your account from that device.

Q. Do I have to buy the app?

A. No. The MyREC SmartHub mobile app is FREE to download and install!

Q. Do I have to change the way I pay my bill in order to use SmartHub?

A. No. You can use all of the features of MyREC SmartHub and continue to pay your bill as you currently do.

Q. I have multiple accounts. Can I see them all in the app and on the web?

A. Yes! The MyREC SmartHub home page will show all of your accounts with the amounts due and links to detailed information. On the mobile app, the total due of all accounts shows on the Bill and Pay screen and you can select different information by account, such as a partial payment option, billing history and payment history.

Q. Can I make a payment on multiple accounts?

A. Web: To pay the total amount owed on all accounts, click the orange Pay Now button in the upper right corner of the screen or the orange Make Payment button on the home page. You can also make a payment to a single account or partial payments to all accounts by clicking on the Billing & Payments button in the top blue bar. That will allow you to check the accounts to be paid and change the amount for each account by clicking on Other Amount on the right-hand side of that page. After entering the amounts to be paid, click the orange Pay Now button. Mobile app: Tap the Bill & Pay icon. If paying the total amount due, tap the Pay button. If paying a partial payment, tap the Pay Partial Amount, tap on the account and adjust the Pay Amount.

Q. How current is the account information I see in the mobile app or on the web?

A. In MyREC SmartHub, the information you see in the app and on the web is shown in real-time, so it's always accurate. However, if you keep your app or the web version open for an extended period of time, you will need to refresh the page by selecting a new option to ensure the information is still current.

Q. How do I sign up for notifications? What if I want to receive notifications for multiple accounts?

A. You must log into the web version of MyREC SmartHub and click on Notifications. Select your preferred notification method (email or SMS text) and fill out the appropriate notification information based on your selection. After the new email address or text number is verified, you'll be able to select the notifications you receive and can indicate which account the notification is for.

Q. Do I have to use SmartHub to pay my bill?

A. No. You can take advantage of all of the features of SmartHub and continue to pay your bill as you currently do.

Q.What are the technical requirements for using MyREC SmartHub?

A. MyREC SmartHub is designed to work well with most mobile platforms and Web browsers.
