Meet the 2020 Board Candidates
Eugene L. Campbell Jr.
Eugene L. "Gene" Campbell Jr. is a life-long resident of King William County. He was born and raised on a dairy farm and shares his love of rural living with his wife, Suzanne, and 17-year-old son, Wyatt.
Campbell actively volunteers with both service-driven and economic development organizations. He currently serves on the King William Economic Development Authority and is part of the King William Internet Connectivity Initiative. Campbell was appointed to the County Electoral Board in 2016 and currently serves as its chairman.
As a member of the King William Ruritan Club since 1979, Campbell has volunteered many hours in service and has held leadership positions within the organization. His past affiliations include Businessmen Associations, Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center Community Advisory Board, and the County Recreation Commission. Campbell is a volunteer writer and photographer for the local Country Courier newspaper and is a life-long member of the King William Historical Society. He is also a life-long member of McKendree United Methodist Church, where he is currently chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Since joining the REC Board in January 2018, Campbell has strived to increase his knowledge of the operations of electric cooperatives. He successfully completed the NRECA Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) program in 2019 and is currently pursuing the Board Leadership Certificate (BLC) designation. He currently serves on the REC Bylaws and Human Resources committees and has served on the Annual Meeting Committee.
Campbell states if he is elected to the Board he will continue to listen to the members of REC and represent their best interests at all times.
