Lybolt Joins REC as Senior Director of Hyperscale Data Center Electric Infrastructure

REC has named Chris Lybolt as the Cooperative’s Senior Director – Hyperscale Data Center Electric Infrastructure Design & Construction.

In this role, Lybolt will lead all phases of multi-substation project development for data centers, from initial design through construction and commissioning. 

“Chris brings a wealth of experience leading complex electric infrastructure projects that will bring immediate value to our Hyperscale Engineering team,” said Mike Dailey, Interim Chief Growth Officer. “His leadership will play a critical role as REC continues to serve these large-scale, high-load members across our territory.”

Lybolt holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute.

He joins REC with more than 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry. Most recently, he spent 13 years at Dominion Energy in various leadership roles, including Manager of Electric Transmission Projects and Transmission Strategic Projects Advisor, where he led the development and execution of largescale transmission projects to provide electric service to data center campuses. His earlier experience includes conceptual substation engineering at AEP and multiple positions at First Energy, where he worked in system planning, regional operations and as Manager of Distribution Operating Centers.
