Every few weeks, we’ll be releasing a new podcast where we interview different people from REC about a host of different topics. We’ll get tips for saving money on your electric bill, we’ll talk about renewable energy and the impact it can have in our communities, we’ll get some behind-the-scenes info about what happens when the power goes out in a storm. We’re going to talk to linemen, marketing people, board members, even the CEO. Don’t miss out on information about community grants, scholarships, REC hosted events, and so much more.

For our first episode, we wanted to give you some background on REC; their service area; explain how cooperatives work, and more. Janet was in the studio with Casey Hollins, Director of Communications and Public Relations for Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.

We discussed the cooperative model, member benefits, the wide and varied services offered by REC and even talked about an upcoming event. It was a great conversation with lots of insight into how REC works for the benefit of it’s members.
