 About The Power of Change

The Power of Change program gives REC member-owners the opportunity to voluntarily support local nonprofits that make a meaningful difference in our communities. Participants contribute by simply rounding up their electric bill to the next whole dollar, with the spare change going directly to help those in need. Twice a year, those donations are awarded by CARE Charity, Inc., a volunteer board, which distributes the funds to 501(c)3 nonprofit charities across the REC service territory. Organizations interested in applying for future funding opportunities can learn more at thepowerofchange.org.
