The Power of Change Can Boost Your Non-Profit - Applications Available
Monday | January 8, 2018

REC is excited to announce The Power of Change application is now available. Non-profit organizations are encouraged to apply.

The Power of Change application is available online at thepowerofchange.org or at any of REC's offices. Applications must be returned by 5 p.m. on Feb. 9, 2018.

Nearly 17,000 REC members voluntarily allow the Cooperative to round up their electric payment to the nearest dollar, with that extra change contributed to The Power of Change.

"The Power of Change has been making a positive impact in our communities for years," said Sterling Schoonover, manager of member services at REC. "We're very appreciative of our members' generosity. Their small donations add up to make a meaningful difference for non-profits in need of funding."

Dozens of local non-profit organizations have received funding from the program since its inception in 2005. This funding has made a significant impact on improving community services, economic development, education, and emergency response in REC's service territory.

REC provides electric service to over 165,000 connections in parts of 22 Virginia counties. With its general office in Fredericksburg, Va., Rappahannock maintains more than 17,000 miles of power lines through its service area, which ranges from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the tidal waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
