Powering the Future: REC Scholarship Funds Available
Tuesday | December 10, 2019

Since 1996, REC has been powering the future with the Community Scholarship. Each year, local students who are seeking to advance their career goals by attending college or a trade school are encouraged to apply.

In 2020, 15 local students will be chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship and two will be chosen to receive a $2,500 scholarship to help them in the pursuit of higher education. The applicant's parent or guardian must be a REC member-owner. There are three categories a student can apply to: students currently enrolled in a college, a high school senior planning to attend college, or a student planning to attend a trade school in 2020.

"REC is more than your local energy provider," said Brian Wolfe, senior public relations specialist. "It's important that REC is actively involved in supporting local communities and the Community Scholarship is a great way to help our youth."

Applications are due January 27, 2020 and can be accessed from REC's website. Recipients will be notified in March 2020. If you have any questions, contact Brian Wolfe at 1-800-552-3904, ext. 5914 or communityscholarship@myrec.coop.
