REC Awarded Large Business of the Year in Culpeper
Wednesday | November 10, 2021

REC was awarded Large Business of the Year at the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce’s 107th Annual Meetings & Awards Banquet on Nov. 4.

“REC is such a rewarding place to work because our mission goes beyond just keeping your lights on,” said Joanie Griffiths, Member Service Representative II and Team Lead. “Our employees go out into the community to engage with our members in a variety of ways.”

The Chamber represents over 430 businesses, civic organizations, educational institutions and entrepreneurs. The annual banquet recognizes the brightest in six categories: entrepreneur of the year, young professional of the year, large business of the year, non-profit of the year and small business of the year.

“At REC, we are committed to our member-owners and the community at-large,” said Tabitha Perryman, REC’s Operations and Construction Assistant in Culpeper. “We give back to the community, and we’re actively engaged with them, whether at events or in our daily interactions with member-owners.”

From grants, donations, and volunteerism, REC works to support the community in a variety of ways.

“We put our core values – Caring, Respect, Integrity and Service – into everything we do, from assisting member-owners, restoring outages no matter the weather conditions, to how we work with our REC colleagues,” Perryman added.

“This award is really a tribute to REC’s more than 400 employees who live and work in the communities we serve,” Griffiths said.
