REC Celebrates Lineworker Appreciation Day
Monday | April 8, 2024

Fredericksburg, Va. - Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) proudly invites the community to join in celebrating Lineworker Appreciation Day, which REC is celebrating on April 8. This day serves as an important reminder of the essential role lineworkers play in powering our communities and ensuring safe and reliable access to electricity.

“Lineworkers are the unsung heroes who brave adverse conditions, from scorching heat to treacherous storms, to ensure that electricity flows reliably into our homes, schools and businesses,” said Jason Satterwhite, Chief Grid Operations Officer. “Their dedication and commitment to their craft often go unnoticed, but their impact to power our daily lives is immeasurable.”

“We work hard to keep the lights on, but the best part of my job is getting power back on for our members after a storm,” said Aaron Clarke, Lineman. “Whatever challenges we face in the field, we’re focused on working together to get the power back on.” Added Casey Hollins, Managing Director - Communications and Public Relations: “Let us take a moment to express our gratitude to these hardworking individuals who keep our lights on and our communities thriving. Whether they are climbing poles, repairing lines, or troubleshooting issues, lineworkers embody the values of dedication, perseverance and selflessness.

“REC extends its heartfelt appreciation to all lineworkers for their service, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to excellence. Together, let us salute these indispensable members of our community on Lineworker Appreciation Day and every day.”
