Team REC Shows Off Skills at International Lineman Rodeo
Friday | October 25, 2024

Each day, REC’s line crews work safely and efficiently to provide members with safe and reliable power.

A group of line workers put their skills to the test at the 40th Annual International Lineman’s Rodeo & Expo, which took place Oct. 16-19 in Overland Park, Kan. Each year, the rodeo attracts the best line workers from around the world to compete in events based on traditional lineman tasks.

Thomas Bailey, Line Foreman; Jason Morris, Lead Lineman; and Cameron Lewis, Apprentice Lineman, competed in the 2024 Rodeo’s Journeyman Team Competition. They earned a perfect score in the Journeyman Pole Climb and Journeyman Mystery Event #2.

Three REC Apprentice Linemen – Austin Lambert, Jordan Stevens and Hunter Graham – competed in seven Apprentice categories, including a pole climb, hurtman rescue and two mystery events.

Stevens completed the Apprentice Pole Climb and Apprentice Mystery Event #2 with a perfect score.

Lambert completed the Apprentice Pole Climb, Apprentice Mystery Event #1 and the Apprentice Hurtman Rescue with a perfect score.

Graham completed both Apprentice Mystery Events and the Apprentice Hurtman Rescue with a perfect score.

In addition to those who competed, Addison Spicer, Fist Class Lineman; Alister Pollard, Lineman; and Kory Settle, First Class Lineman, were coaches. Fayette Henshaw, Lead Lineman, and Todd McCall, First Class Lineman, volunteered as judges.

Congratulations to Team REC on a job well done!
