A Smarter Thermostat Can Do More Than Keep You Comfortable.
If you already have an eligible smart thermostat, you can earn bill credits by enrolling in Vividly Brighter® Thermostats.
Once enrolled, REC may make small, temporary thermostat adjustments during periods when electricity demand is highest. Participation happens automatically, so there is little for you to do after enrollment.

How It Works
Enroll once, then let your smart thermostat do the rest.
Enroll
Sign in to MyREC SmartHub and select Programs → Vividly Brighter → Connect My Thermostat. Enrollment is free and easy.
Stay Comfortable
During select periods of high electricity demand, REC may temporarily adjust your thermostat by up to 4°F.
Get Rewarded
Participate in the program and receive incentive credits directly on your REC bill.
Small Changes During Peak Energy Use
On certain days, electricity use across REC's system can climb significantly. During these periods, REC may call a Smart Thermostat Event to help reduce peak demand.
Your thermostat may be adjusted by up to 4°F.
Events generally last three hours or less.
After the event, your thermostat automatically returns to your preferred temperature.
You can override an individual event when needed.

See If You're Eligible
Vividly Brighter® Thermostats is available to qualifying REC residential members.
Be a residential REC member on Schedule A1 or A2 and in good standing.
Have an eligible, compatible smart thermostat.
Maintain an active home internet/Wi-Fi connection.
Have an active MyREC SmartHub account.
Agree to participate in the program for a minimum of one year.
Program Seasons
Smart Thermostat Events may occur during summer and winter, when electricity demand can be at its highest.

Am I required to have a SmartHub account to enroll?
Yes, all program participants are required to have a SmartHub account to enroll.
Creating an account is quick and easy if you do not currently have a login.
Will REC notify me when an event takes place?
Event notifications will be sent by your thermostat manufacturer. REC will not send a separate notification.
Do I need to do anything when an event occurs?
No, participants do not need to do anything when notified of an event. The enrolled thermostat will automatically adjust to provide maximum savings.
When is enrollment open?
Eligible members can enroll at any time throughout the year.
When can I expect my thermostat to adjust?
Events take place during periods of high electricity demand occurring between June 1–September 30 and November 1–March 1.
