Meet the CARE Charity Board: Lindsey McClellan
Friday | April 18, 2025

A full-time realtor, Lindsey McClellan helps clients find their perfect homes in Louisa County and the Lake Anna community. Finding the right match is fulfilling, she said.

In a similar manner, McClellan finds personal satisfaction in her role serving on the CARE Charity Board, where she helps match limited funds with nonprofits that serve veterans, low-income residents, the elderly and others in need.

Before joining the Board, she was unaware of The Power of Change program, which she now sees as a remarkable initiative by REC to give back to the community. For McClellan, it’s an honor to be part of an organization that makes such a positive impact. She enjoys contributing to good causes and feels privileged to be able to give back.

“I feel like we just do a really good job of advocating for our communities,” she said. “And that’s good. We’re a diverse blend of people, who have specific causes we support. It adds value to the overall collective.”

Several causes are dear to McClellan, particularly those related to medical needs in the community. She highlights the importance of supporting efforts like those at Lake Anna, where funds have been used to purchase rescue boats and other essential equipment.

Given the rural nature of her community, programs that enable CPR-certified neighbors to assist in emergencies are particularly meaningful to her. In addition to medical support, McClellan also cares deeply about meeting basic needs, such as food security, especially for single mothers.

McClellan is proud of the collaborative nature of the CARE Charity Board. She appreciates the diverse perspectives each member brings, which leads to well-rounded discussions and decisions.

She values the insights provided by board members who are closely connected to the local communities, which often reveal the true value of programs that may not have been communicated effectively on paper. This collective approach ensures that the board makes impactful contributions to the communities they serve.

For McClellan, being part of the CARE Charity Board is meaningful because it allows her to be generous and make a difference in her community. The role provides her with the opportunity to advocate for causes that matter and to be part of a team that works diligently to allocate funds where they are most needed.

When McClellan is not serving on the CARE Charity Board, she is actively involved in her church, The Point in Louisa, as the Production Director, handling audio-visual elements for Sunday services. Outside of her professional and community roles, she enjoys spending time with her family, engaging in outdoor activities, particularly on the lake, and playing golf.

McClellan believes that everyone should participate in the Power of Change program. She emphasizes that the cost is minimal—no more than 99 cents per month — yet the collective impact on the community is significant. McClellan is optimistic that increased participation would allow the board to support even more deserving charities.

“I think everybody should be in The Power of Change because it costs you almost nothing,” she said. “And the impact that we can have for the community is exponentially greater.”
