Staying Ahead: Payment Options
Staying Ahead: Payment Options
Recorded on

We recorded today’s episode via Zoom with Casey Hollins, Director of Communications and Public Relations for Rappahannock Electric Cooperative to learn about all the payment options available to Rappahannock Electric Cooperative member owners.

Casey reminded us that REC has made the decision not to perform disconnections due to non-payment during this COVD-19 pandemic. She also walked through all the different options for making payments – as little or as much as you can – in order to not fall so far behind that it seems impossible to catch back up. Those options include:

  • PrePay: This program allows you to choose how much and how often you want to pay before you use electricity.
  • MyREC SmartHub: Make a payment quick and easy through your MyREC SmartHub online profile.
  • Kiosks: Pay your electric bill 24/7, even on weekends and holidays, at the kiosk located at each of their four local offices.
  • Budget Billing: Monthly payment option helps residential members plan for their bills in an affordable manner.

She also explained the various ways you can set up a payment plan via SmartHub or phone, plus we talked about the ability to “gift” a payment to a friend, family member or complete stranger.
